More about Todd Davis

Todd started flying, steerable, two line kites back in 1977 with the encouragement and support of his mother. Mr.Davis actually rode a steerable kite in the waters off of Kihei back in the late 80's with a boogie board and did a few rides across Kealia Pond, now closed to such antics, with a surfboard, Todd truly might be the 1st Kiteboarder on Maui, but he insists that the Hawaiians probably did it before him. Todd's future turned to destiny as he fell in love with Inflatable Kite's and eventually kiteboarding.

Todd is so humble, he would tell you that he purchased his first Inflatable kite in 1998.  He would later be part of the the Maui Airush team, as one of the most precise controlled and yet explosive riders on Maui. Trough trial and error Todd taught himself how to tack, roll, jump, wave ride, stay upwind and be highly skilled on the water. Wainman Hawaii was Todd's next sponsor, then HQ Powerkites and now with Best Kiteboarding.

In 2005 Todd's whole life revolved around kite boarding. He was constantly innovating the sport
with his riding and board shaping and yet he was also very ocean minded and environmentally aware individual, it was also in this year he started making his own boards and "Kailolo" was born, in Hawaiian this means "Kai/Water Lolo/ Crazy".

In 2011 Stepped out of the limelight to focus on his family and give back to the sport by teaching.
He quickly became a a certified IKO instructor and now has recently acquired a UsKiters Kiteboarding Instructor certificate as well. He was a natural. But his most amazing achievement, is that his lesson plan took two years to develop.

So Remember when on Maui of your feeling "Kailolo" (water crazy) or want to bring your kite surfing/kiteboarding, or surfing up a notch, or maybe just get started, look no further then Learn2kitemaui.com, for all your Kiteboarding Instruction, Surf Instruction and SUP Instruction.
